Those are fine for low draw things, like the heater. I use one for my heaters, another one for the scope. Then a deep cycle for the laptop. There are all different types of configurations. They cost nearly as much as the deep cycles, but they're much lighter and more convenient. And of course you can keep one in your car to help others along the highway, instead of using cables. I've probably used mine a dozen times or more to help others jump their cars. They are great to have. You can't go all night with them though; for a laptop you have to go deep cycle.

How about one of the emergency jump start units. Not as much umph as a full size battery, but not as expensive. Also, they have the receptacle for for the 12V plug built in.
