Michael,
I met you at the MASP...and have been observing with Robert some recently at Medoc. (You bought my buddy Tim's scope remeber?)
For years I have helped out with those programs..and it looks like Nicle is at least trying to get some events on the schedule there. There haven't been a lot of progams of this nature in the last year or so, and i am excited that she is trying to get the public involved.
So the more the merrier...I am going to help out when I can...and I look forward to observing with some more of you folks there.
I agree that the more we do to help the park staff and also present the skies to the public the better.
Medoc has been good to me over the years ... as I have always tried to be thankful for the facility and always try to get along with the staff and help out. Robert can certainly attest that they are a nice group.......allen enfield NC
I just looked at Medoc's scheduled events for March and found this. Anyone know who is leading it? Perhaps we could participate and score some serious points with the rangers and locals.

Star Gazing
Check out Medoc's beautiful dark skies while learning about some of our constellations, stars and the moon. Feel free to bring binoculars, flashlights, telescopes and warm clothes. There will be some telescopes set up for your viewing pleasures. If there happens to be cloudy skies then we will read stories about our constellations around a fire. The program will be in the picnic area.
Start Time: 6:00pm
End Time: varies
