[Chaos-l] Astronomy Day (as opposed to NCSM "Astronomy Days").

Hi all. This being the International Year of Astronomy, i was wondering
if we should attempt something we haven't tried before. There is a
international Astronomy Day (see the AL page at
http://www.astroleague.org/al/astroday/astroday.html). This year it
falls on May 2nd, just after 1st quarter moon.
Should we plan to do something for this? It could be as simple as
setting up at the sundial at Morehead for solar/lunar observing and LP
education, or something more complicated such as a public session at
Little River Park.
I know it's kinda late to be thinking about this (a little under a
month), but it's always bugged me that CHAOS doesn't do anything for the
major Astronomy "holiday". I'd like to make it a permanent feature of
the CHAOS public outreach, but start with something smallish this year
because of the late start.
Thoughts/suggestions?
Mickey/Amy, your input on behalf of Morehead would be much appreciated.
Mike Lemon, you once said you'd be willing to contact the Little River
people about sessions there. Have you followed up on this? If not,
could you?
Thanks.
J.
