Dr. Dan Reichart of the UNC Physics and Astronomy Dept has been a good
friend to CHAOS and has given talks to us on his research involving remote
observing of gamma ray bursts. He has already proved his versatility by
giving us a talk on Stonehenge and he moved into new territory for CHAOS
talks with last night's presentation on Climate Change. Dr. Reichart
obviously feels strongly about the consequences of global warming and the
need for each person to be active in trying to effect a "course
change." He is personally trying to raise awareness and his talk to us is
part of that effort. He has been collecting interesting data including
photos and video clips for several years and has put together a presentation
that is quite motivating. Turnout for the talk was good with Carol Woods
residents (including a retired UNC physics professor) slightly outnumbered
CHAOS members. Thanks again to Dr. Reichart. We hope to see you again
soon! Walter Fowler
