[Chaos-l] focuser installation

I got a new (to me) focuser in the mail today. It's a GSO crayford 2" single-
speed focuser that I picked up for cheap on astromart. It was allegedly
pulled off of a 12" Hardin dob, but the curvature fits my 8" dob perfectly.

I want to install it on my 8" Orion dob, which is one of the older sonotube
ones. This will replace the terrible R&P 1.25" focuser it came with.

Any advice? How do I get it perfectly square? Also, I'm looking for a piece
of thin sheet metal or something similar to make a back plate. Any
suggestions on that?

Thanks,
Michael
