I invariably buy books online, usually from half.com.

For example, Star Trails is available in a paper bound edition brand new for
$1.08 plus shipping. Shipping is at standard rates.
They also sell  CDs and DVDs. Have never been stiffed by their vendors over
the 10+ years of purchasing. Of course, not the same
as the fun one gets browsing a good book store, or the public library. And,
unless you make one, no coffee wafting its tempting aromas passed the
browsers.

But there are surprising discoveries to be made online, and it¹s always a
treat to see a package in your mail box.

Printing books is cheap. Selling them at retail is hard and costly. So
publishers overprint deliberately and unload the extras in this channel.
