Greetings everyone, I'm trying to get a head start on our February meeting so that you
can pass the word around to teachers and students alike. Especially our high school students.
Our speaker for the month is Ms. Zena Cardman.
Zena Cardman is a senior biology and marine ecology student at UNC. She has traveled to
the Arctic and Antarctica to research life in some of Earth's most
extreme environments. With international researchers and astronauts
from NASA and the Canadian Space Agency, she is part of the Pavilion
Lake Research Project deploying submarines in British Columbia, and
has helped test the new Lunar Electric Rover with the NASA Desert RATS
program. At UNC, she works with Dr. Andreas Teske researching the
microorganisms that thrive in deep-sea hydrothermal vents.
This is going to be a good one.
If anyone knows how to get this information off to the newspapers and to the local
schools in the area I'd greatly appreciate it . Basically, I'm looking for a publicist.
Thanks,
Jayme Hanzak
