Tuesday's meeting was a very good meeting. We had about 25 folks show up to hear our speaker Zena Cardman .

We had several visitors attend.

Zena told us about her work with NASA studying life in extreme environments here on Earth and how it translates to exploring other planets in our solar system.

I also showed my home video of the Endeavour launch on Monday February 8th.

Astronomy Days in Raleigh was success even though it was a shortened version of the event due to weather. Approximately 6000 people attended.

Astronomy Day is coming up on April 24th and CHAOS is assisting Little River Park in North Durham to celebrate it. Jon Stewert-Taylor is heading up the event for CHAOS.

Mickey Jo Sorrel of the Morehead Planetarium wanted everyone to be aware of the "Globe at Night Project". http :// www . globeatnight .org/

She would like everyone to participate in the project if you can. It is the week of March 3-6.

Our next month's meeting will be on March 9th with our speaker being Mark Norris. He will be talking about "Ultra Compact Dwarfs".

Clear skies!

Jayme
