Morehead hosted observing at Jordan Lake's Ebenezer Church Recreation
Area last night from 21:00-23:00. With clearing skies, over a dozen
scopes set up, and plenty of interested public, the night became a good
one for starwatching. Our list of easy hits included:
-Luna (4:30am Saturday was first quarter, so we caught the first day of
our waxing gibbous, [which by this hour is 63% of full])
-Venus
-Mars
-Saturn (with Rhea to the apparent left and Titan to the [appt] right)
Additionally, our own Jim Miller found M13 in Hercules.
I was busy with a line at my scope almost all night, so I didn't get to
chat much with other observers in attendance. I'm excited to hear what
others saw as well.
