Hi Walter,
I'd like to be kept informed. You may remember my home isn't too far from there. The skies have gotten steadily worse out here since I built my observatory a few years ago.
Thanks,
Ray Porter

In response to Mike's message, I am involved to some extent in opposing this development for water quality and other reasons (including dark skies) and I am on listserves providing information about "what can I do" as well as "what is going on." Let me know if any of you want to get involved or if you just want to be kept up to date. Walter

There is currently a lot of debate over a proposed new development very close to Jordan Lake, at the intersection of 751 and Fayetteville Rd. This of course affects anyone using Farrington for astronomy, because it has the potential to add a lot of light pollution.

It is at least something to keep our eye on, or perhaps someone is interested in getting involved.
Michael
