Well, I never worked up the energy to try the Perseids, even though right
now it looks clear here.  I've NEVER had much luck with chasing meteors,
except for the Leonids a few years ago.

 

I notice that the CSC for Medoc has changed much for the better tonight.
Ryan, the ranger at Medoc, will have a Perseid program beginning at 1130pm.
I am thinking of going and setting up my scope if the forecast holds.  For
tonight, it looks much better in the east than the west, as a couple of
clear sky clocks from the Triad on show clouds Friday, but clear at Medoc.

 

If anyone wishes to join me, then please do.  I'll decide later on today and
post.  allen
