I was out at Jordan Lake with Tony, even though I didn't see him, Terry and the Morehead crew. We had a large

crowd of folks. When I was looking at Saturn, I had a line of folks 20 deep for quite a while. I followed Saturn until it faded into

the muck. In retro speck, I guess that might have been the clouds heading toward us. I showed M13 and M57 to those

who wanted to see something different.

The crowd had some nice meteors, but as Terry said, the light pollution more than likely killed the dimmer ones.

A little after 11pm Mickey declared the session over. I didn't realize just what kind of authority she had, because as

soon as she said that the clouds thickened and indeed, the session was over.

On the way home I observed the storm rolling into the area to my left. As I hit Hillsborough, the storm was moving

behind me and I could see stars to my north where my house is.

When I got home, the sky were clear over my house and they cleared even better as the storm moved east. :-]

I watched until 2am and I was able to see the dimmer meteors passing through Cygnus at zenith. There were

several really nice streaker with some nice persistence lasting 10 to 15 seconds. It was not a bad

show. Unfortunately I had to work and a meeting at 9am, so I had to get some sleep. :-{
