Friday night at Farrington, a Raleigh gentleman was kind enough to  
track it down in what looked to be an 8" SCT.  It was not an exciting  
object.  _Very_ faint diffuse coma, with no real gradient to the  
core.  Didn't look anywhere near 6th magnitude to me: more like 7.5 or  
8.  But, i've not a lot of experience estimating, and especially not  
through that scope.  YMMV.
