It's very very fast and you've got to be right on the predicted line
to see anything, especially with the one coming up since the
illuminated part of the moon will be so small.

Think of it this way, the ISS is around 350 miles away (traveling 17+k
mph), the moon about 350k miles away.  The transit really does happen
in a blink of the eye, even during a full moon.
