Fellow CHAOS members,
With the cancellation of tonight's meeting, you may be experiencing a bit of
astronomical cabin fever. I'd like to suggest a road trip to Raleigh as a
possible cure.

How about joining us at this Friday evening's Raleigh Astronomy Club meeting
at the Museum of Natural Sciences. Our speaker will be New Jersey telescope
builder *Rob Teeter*.

RAC member Phyllis Lang (author of *Deep-Sky Planner* software) recently
acquired a new, custom built 14.5" Dobsonian telescope from *Teeter
Telescopes*. Rob Teeter builds finely crafted telescopes in a variety of
sizes ( http://www.teeterstelescopes.com/ ). Phyllis may even bring her
new scope to the meeting. You can see a photo of her scope on the Teeter
website under the *Scope Log* button...Phyllis' scope is number TT70 (near
the end of the list).
For anyone interested in telescope design or Teeter Telescopes in
particular, this is a great opportunity to hear what an experienced
telescope maker has to say. Teeter's scopes feature multiple boundary layer
fans to quickly equilibrate their mirrors, quality construction and custom
designs.

RAC meetings start at *7:30 PM* (in this case, *Friday -- Jan. 14th*).
After our meetings, we usually adjourn to a local restaurant to talk
astronomy and meet the speaker.
Come to the meeting and stay afterwards for food and fellowship.

Come on, it'll be fun! Get out of the house this Friday night. The ice and
snow ought to be gone by then.

Clear skies,
