[Chaos-l] March 4th - 6th club star gazing

Greetings CHAOS,
Last night we had a very lively club meeting. Our guest speaker was Dr. Barbara Becker who gave a
wonderful talk about Margaret Huggins. Margaret Huggins was the wife and assistant of William Huggins
whom is credited as the "Father of Spectroscopy".
We also had a discussion about Staunton River State Park in Virginia. This park is about 13 miles east of
South Boston Virgina. The park is allowing us to come up the weekend of March 4th to camp and have a club
observing weekend. They have 48 campsites with hot showers.
The park has a large field to set up telescopes and they have full control of their out door lights. This means dark skies.
So if you are interested in camping and observing over this weekend with dark skies. Let me know so I can tell the
park ranger how many camp sites we will need. The telescopes are across the road from the camp sites and the
park fairly secure.
