You know, I thought the sky looked a little RED last night, but I thought it was due to a thin layer of clouds and light pollution. 

I didn't see the the glow in the north like usual.

Hi all.  There's currently a geomagnetic storm, and according to the   
NOAA map, auroral activity is coming further south than usual:

Currently it's reaching the VA/MD border.  It's still got a ways to go   
before it gets THIS far south, but if you're out observing anyway, you   
might check the northern horizon every now and then.

PS: i have class tuesdays 5:30-8, which is why i haven't been to   
meetings lately.
