A few skywatching updates for everyone: 

  

1)       Morehead will be at Little River Regional Park next Friday night, April 29, from 8-10. We would love to have CHAOS members joining us. This is always a fun event, smaller crowds than Jordan Lake and a darker sky. 

2)       Due to staffing issues at Jordan Lake, we have canceled our July 2 skywatching session. Park staff will be busy with July 4 th campers. 

3)       We have shifted the date of our September session from Sept. 3  to the 10 th – also because of the holiday weekend. This means there will be a 12 day old Moon in the sky, so the plan is to focus on Moon stories and games and, of course, less on deep sky viewing. This is an experiment. We’ll see how it goes. 

  

  

Thanks always to all you CHAOS members for your presence at the skywatching sessions. You really account for the popular success of these events.
