[Chaos-l] Stagville event

The folks at Stagville, a pre-civil war historic site in Durham,
passed along the following, an event they are coordinating with
Morehead Planetarium:


Thursday June 9, 2011 8:30pm to 10:00pm

Stagville will partner with Morehead Planetarium  for a program
focusing on the night sky myths and legends in African cultures, as
well as the related stories told by scientists today.  Step inside the
original slave quarters from the 1850s where interpreters can answer
questions about lives of the enslaved people or peer through the
planetariums telescopes at the moon an Saturn.  The program will wrap
up with a constellation tour looking at the same stars as our
ancestors.  Expand your universe, bring your blankets, and observer
the sky.  This event is free and open to the public.
