[Chaos-l] Brief observing at Medoc

I met Michael Camp and Jason Strother at Medoc this evening.  Banking on the
CSC, and it held true.although the seeing was better than indicated.

 

We observed the globs and a couple of galaxies.  But Saturn was the real
showpiece..at 318x in my 20" the views were razor sharp.

 

We had visitors, and a whole group of college students from Bloomberg
College in PA came over and spent time with us.  A nice group, and they were
absolutely thrilled with Saturn.  Real exclamations of "I didn't know you
could see that". And "did you put a picture of Saturn in front?".  They were
very appreciative, and as always, I felt good having shared this with
others.

 

Hope some of you got out this evening and were able to experience it.  I
didn't post on the group because I knew it was a difficult night for someone
to travel to Medoc and wasn't sure how the weather would turn out.

 

Well worth it though.  allen
