Wow, what a wealth of information you have given me. I am confused as ever ;) , but greatly appreciate your input. I think the dobsonian makes sense because it is the easiest to use/setup/be stable (from what i have read here and on the web). The 8 sounds like it is worth the extra $50 over the 6, but will it be manageable to carry? I imagine we will use in the driveway in Chapel Hill and also take it to darker areas (we have a minivan). Any feeling about whether Orion or Zhumell is a better choice?
