[Chaos-l] manned spaceflight announcement today from NASA

NASA is announcing the next generation of manned spacecraft, the
Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle today.  Its based on the Orion which has already
gone through a lot of the tests in the overall plan.  The media is
trumpeting its use for manned missions to an asteroid and on to Mars.  The
multi-purpose part means that it should be usable to the ISS which will
hopefully keep the use of Russian craft to a minimum.
