[Chaos-l] observing this weekend?

Hello,
Most of you wouldn't know me. I've only attended one observing session at
Jayme's house, although more of you probably would have met me by now if the
club still had the dark site near Virgilina, since that isn't far from my
house.
I was wondering if any were planning to observe this Memorial Day weekend,
perhaps on Sunday evening after (so says the forecast) the rain and clouds
go away. If so, would any be going to a spot where the horizon is feasibly
low enough to observe Centaurus A and possibly Omega Centauri? This weekend
will likely be my only chance to aim for these targets. I was kicking
myself last weekend that I did not at least bring some binoculars to
Atlantic Beach when I took the church youth group on their annual retreat.
I looked over the ocean and could see Centaurus staring me in the face! If
you have any recommendations, please let me know. My go-to spot here in
Person County is a rural baseball field that has good horizons in every
direction *except* for the tree and parking lot light directly to the south.
Thanks,
Chris
