That's a nice looking scope Fred. Quite a discount too.
As far as the EQ-G goes, nice choice. I have this mount and I have enjoyed it. It does everything I want it too.
I've had 40 lbs. of telescopes, camera and cables on my mount. Add the 40lbs. of counter weight and it hasn't
had a problem. Of course, balance is everything. My mount is about 9+ years old now.
I don't remember, do the new mounts offer the sync option on them?

Subject: [Chaos-l] Update
After a recommendation from the Astronomy forum I decided to purchase a Orion Sirius EQ-G tripod and mount. I also backordered a 6" Ritchie-Chretien reflector from Astronomics ( http://www.astronomics.com/main/product.asp/catalog_name/Astronomics/category_name/U5QNWB3RKWWL8N3EL99F9DX9A0/product_id/AT6RC ) At $299 it certainly seems too good to be true. I am having buyer's remorse but acn still cancel the order since I have not paid anything yet. Reviews around the internet are mixed on the telescope and the vendor - vendor owns Cloudynights site and most of the good reviews seem to come from there.
Anyone have experience with this telescope and/or vendor?
As always any advice/recommendations appreciated.
