[Chaos-l] The occultation

Unfortunately, the occultation was clouded out for Jason and me.  Michael
wisely opted out, but Jason and I were on the way, and we decided to see
what happened.  A sprinkle of rain on my windshield did not bode well.

 

But the moon was in and out on the  way, and I was hopeful.  But not.

 

It was cloudy when we got there and set up our scopes.  I my Genesis, which
is literally a five minute setup, and Jason, whose dob sets up about the
same.  I saw the moon barely peak through, and was even able to see Pi Sag
just a few minutes before occultation.  Then it clouded up, and we got
another glimpse a few minutes after.  It then pretty much cleared up about
15 min later, and by the time I got home a little while ago, it was crystal
clear.

 

Not to be.  I hope others had better fortunes.  allen
