[Chaos-l] Good Conditions Tuesday Night

It was actually I think the best I have seen it in a long long time. This
is I believe one of the advantages of the refracting scope......no
diffraction spikes at all, and just a clear path to the eye.

It really was an astounding view. allen

Subject: [Chaos-l] Good Conditions Tuesday Night

Everyone,

I know it's a "school night" ... but the Clear Sky Clock for Tuesday night
is looking especially good! If you have a chance, you might want to get
out and check out something in the night sky ... even if it is only the
Double Double in Lyra.

Last Saturday night at Medoc, I brought my refractor to try to see some dark
nebulae. But when I pointed it at the Double Double, I was awestruck! The
sky was very still, each star in the wider pair split into another perfectly
clear pair, and I could clearly see the magnitude difference in Epsilon1.
Perhaps I was hallucinating, but the magnitude difference also translated
into a slight color difference. It was easily the best I've seen it in
that scope.

Robert
