[Chaos-l] Photo of Comet Garradd and M71

Michael certainly got a really nice image of Comet Garradd (I especially liked the color of the nucleus) ... my compliments, Michael.  I got a wider view last night:

This is a 2 m 45 s unguided exposure straight out of my Canon T2i on my refractor.  It took a couple of tries to get both the comet and M71 in the frame, but I'm happy with how it turned out.  And my wife (a muggle) even picked out the little dark nebula (CB212) on the left between the comet and Gamma Sagittae.

It's too bad Irene is headed our way this weekend ... the comet passes MUCH closer to the globular cluster on Friday night.   I wish I could have taken a photo of that!
