Hi all. As some of you already know, Kathleen has been hired as the
"Media and Technology Specialist" (i.e. Librarian and computer grunt)
at Burgaw Middle School. One of the things she's doing there is
starting an Astronomy Club, and one of the first things the Astronomy
Club will be doing is International Observe the Moon Night. She
received (well, the school did, but she was the one who did the
application, and took CHAOS' and NSN's names in vain (thanks Tony))
one of the Moon Observing Kits, with 70mm binos on tripod, moon atlas,
etc.

So, in collaboration with Moore's Creek National Battlefield, Burgaw
Middle School will be hosting an astronomy event for International
Observe The Moon Night. There will be activities (mostly moon-
related) during the day, rain or shine, and a moon observing session
at night (weather permitting). The location is:

Moores Creek National Battlefield 40 Patriots Hall Drive Currie, NC
28435

The day-time activities will be in and around the picnic pavilons, and
the observing session will be in the Patriot's Hall parking lot:

I know it's a two-hour drive for most of you, but you'd be very
welcome if you choose to come and help out.

Thanks.

J.
