[Chaos-l] Last night

Thanks to Michael and Sandi, Jason, and Beth for coming last night.  Once
again, two nights in a row, there were a lot of people visiting.  We had, I
estimate over a 2 to 2.5 hour period about 40-45 people total.  That number
was perhaps 30 -35 Friday, and last Saturday we had around 35-40 or so.
Well over 100 people then just in a week time who got to look through
telescopes that mostly never had.

 

So many folks were appreciative.  As most of you know, it is really a great
thing to hear the ooohs and aaaahs.and wows.  The kids were really thrilled,
and one lady last night thanked me profusely and said it had been "the
chance of a lifetime."  One man who came both last night and the night
before said that we had really "turned on" a number of kids to becoming
interested in astronomy.

 

So again, that is what its all about for me.  

 

Looking forward to the events over the next few weeks.  ECSP this
weekend.and of course the MASP.  There is also an event at Goochland Va on
Nov 18-19th. 

 

However, a friendly reminder to all that we have a program at Medoc on Nov
18th....that is advertised.  Always we need help so plan to join us at Medoc
that Friday night!!!  If I can muster the energy I may plan to go to
Goochland that Saturday the 19th, as that is  a nice place along with a very
nice group.  

 

We are in that period of changing weather.supposed to have a brief summer
like period early this week, and then once again it will be cool for the
weekend.  For those coming to the ECSP bring some warm clothes.right now I
am looking a temps in low 40's and near the water it can be pretty chilly.
I am looking forward to it.  NO BUGS.  allen
