No, but it does take the ability to see things ... and personally I would like to help people understand that all this light pollution is hurting our ability to enjoy the night sky.
Why not drive the students (and visitors) another 15 minutes to Jordan Lake, where you can actually see stars?
Robert (who agrees with the urban astronomy concept, but who wants people to protect the night skies)
