Hi All:

My name is Bill Cook and I have been a CHAOS member in the past and am still on the mail list. I am selling my 15" Obsession (Obsession #335) that isn't getting enough use. If you were in the club when we were viewing at the Saxapahaw site on the hill, you probably looked through it.

The scope is in great shape. I ordered the scope pretty much stock. The mirror is by Nova. The secondary has the 98% reflectivity coating that is standard on all new Obsessions. The focuser is upgraded and has the reduced travel fine focus feature that is similiar to the one that is offered now on the Obsession web site (see the JMI EV1) except that mine does not have the ability to be swiveled on its base. I purchased a 16" drum case that I use to store the Upper Telescope Asssembly.

The 15" can be handled by one person. I can carry the mirror box by myself. Set up from trunk to viewing takes about 10 minutes including collamination. I have a 2"/1 1/2" laser collimator with collimating screen that we can work into the deal if you are interested (I think it is a Howie Glatter unit).

I am 6' 3" and can look directly into the eyepiece when viewing Dobson's Hole (straight up). If you are shorter, all you will need is a six pack to stand on to see overhead.

Below is the link that describes the current 15" and has some photos as well. Mine was ordered in June 1999 and while there a some differences, I am certain they are minor.

If anyone knows or has access to the Raleigh Astronomy Club mail list and doesn't mind, I would appreciate this being forwarded to that list as well. I haven't placed this anywhere else yet.

I am asking $3800.00 for the whole shooting match. You can respond to the above email or call me at 919-368-0729 (cell)

Thanks

Bill Cook
