Simple amazing what you can do with an off-the-shelf DSLR (albeit a nice one) and a one minute exposure just attaching it to a scope like an eyepiece!   Oh yeah, we forgot to mention that there was a full moon lighting up the sky!   I still can't believe Allen got as much as he did out of M42 ... it was in the same part of the sky right next to the moon!
