I left work early.with best wishes but little hope of seeing anything at
Medoc.

It rained on the way there.

But less than thirty minutes later a nice hole opened in the skies and I was
able to see the first contact....Jason arrived...and also a couple from New
York who also saw it. We watched a few clouds go by, but we clearly saw the
second contact and the "black drop" much like the shadows on Jupiter as
they ingress. It appeared to be stuck to the rim of the Sun and then
finally moved in and was round again.

Watched it move in further.Michael and Ashley arrived .and they saw the
second contact also.

Clouds ..then .and they looked like they would not go away. Michael and
Ashley left, and Jason a bit later...

On the way home I noticed some clear skies to the east, and then at the
Medoc crossroads, I had the sun flash on like a searchlight as it peeped out
below clouds. I turned north on 48 and then left ofn 561 and went to the
old racetrack.found a hill there.and quickly dragged out the Genesis.without
the tray.but it was stable anyway.

Watched the Sun.now redder.and boiling....the edges of Venus and the Sun
were ragged with our atmosphere working its ways. But it was most
beautiful.a few picturesque clouds moved acrossed.and then it disappeared
behind a cloud. I looked up and saw the the sun would come out again.and I
waited a moment as the bottom of the sun peeked once again. As it moved
across the narrow band of sky to the trees.I saw Venus as it sunk into the
trees just above the horizon. I was very conscious at that last moment that
I would never see that again in my lifetime.

It was most beautiful. I can honestly say it was much more than I expected.
Venus seemed much larger and I really sensed that it was a planet, our
sister nearer the sun.

Strange that some of you ended with crowds of people viewing, and I ended up
alone seeing it move silently into the trees over some rolling hills with no
one in sight.

It was a moment to remember. allen
