OK, I know that I was one of the biggest cheerleaders for the Venus Transit
of 2012 (I may be overestimating my noteriety) but I do think that I need
to say what many others may be thinking - could it have been faked.  I am
not usually a conspiricy monger (OK, maybe I am) but it had to cross my
mind and the minds of any others (including Dr. Dan Reichart) who saw the
"weather balloon/UFO" after sunset but before it got dark on the evening of
the "transit".  What if someone released "thousands" of weather balloons
shortly before the "predicted" transit - would one balloon (or several over
several hours of observing) possibly give a similar "spot on the sun" as
was observed.  On the bright side, if this hypothesis is correct we may not
need to wait for >100 yrs to observe another "Venus Transit."  The bearer
