[Chaos-l] medoc last night

A very nice and enjoyable night at Medoc.  I was running a little late.and
when I left encountered a bit of ground fog on the way..but it was worse at
Medoc!  However, the skies were very nice and the Milky Way  a real
standout..the usual targets for a while, and then a concerted effort at
seeing Jupiter.  It is rising earlier and earlier and we actually got some
nice stead views.of the Great Pale Spot and also an interesting storm,
anomaly, feature .whatever.next to it in the band.  Looked almost like a
reverse image of the spot...but much darder.  Lots of bands and festoons
visible.  Also got a very nice view of Neptune with Jim's scope .Triton
easily visible.  And for me Uranus was very good with Titania and Oberon
near by.

 

Who came to enjoy?  Michael and Sandi Camp, Jim Palermo, Alexey, Peter,
Jason,  and Chris Schelin who hadn't been to Medoc in a while.  I had a
great time and thank you folks for showing up.  It was just cool enough for
a short time by the fire,..thanks Jason.

 

Hope to see a lot of you next weekend at the SRSP and also at the MASP the
next weekend.  Wish I could do it all.
