Interesting read Allen, Explore Scientific recommends using 94% isopropyl
alcohol on the optics of my scope. I've used it on the correct plate and no
problems so far.
I do use spray on DEET during mosquito season, but I leave the observing
area before applying it. I've also read that exhaust fumes can have an
adverse effect on coatings as well.
