Subject: Please Announce Our Star Party

The Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute (PARI) is pleased to announce our Fall Star Party being held December 14-16, 2012. Located in Rosman, NC, and operating as a radio observatory and science education center, PARI also happens to be one of the finest dark sky sites in North Carolina. PARI's well-equipped campus can accommodate overnight visitors in our dormitories as well as camping on our well-tended grounds. Nearby hotels may also be used for overnight accommodations. PARI skies are a treat for both visual observers, and serious astro-imagers. Activities will include daytime and evening workshops and inclusion in our popular Evening at PARI program on Friday night.

PARI welcomes the involvement of any local (or satellite) astronomy clubs, and would appreciate the announcement of this star party being passed on to your members. Registration is now open on-line on the PARI web site. See http://www.pari.edu/psp for complete details.

This years star party is focused on meteors and will feature a talk by Dr. Mike Reynolds on amateur meteor hunting and identification. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me or Christi Whitworth at the e-mail or number below. Thank you in advance for your support, and we hope to see you in December.
