Hi, CHAOS folks --

Can you help me out with any thoughts you have on what this man may have seen? (The email below is from a Chapel Hill News reporter-- I have deleted from the email the name & contact info of the man who saw the object and contacted the reporter.)

This is the relevant excerpt from the "UFO report" the man refers to in his email to the reporter:
"...on Saturday November 3, 2012 at approximately 9pm I saw what at first I thought was a falling star. I was looking at the constellation Cassiopeia when a streak of light caught my attention. The object came out of the North to the left of Cassiopeia. As I craned my neck to follow it across the sky I realized it was a perfect black triangle with white lights on each point. It continued its straight path out of sight beyond the tree line. It was very fast, with no sound. 3 seconds total. "

He lives in Carrboro, near the center of town, and saw this from his back yard.

thanks,
Amy Sayle

Attached is a simple jpeg lifted from the internet that looks exactly like
what I saw. Again, the one I witnessed was moving.

In addition to the attached UFO report that I submitted to NUFORC, I would
also say that the object in question may have changed speeds, because
visually, it went from a long streak of light across the sky to a perfect
triangle as it passed overhead. Basically, it felt as if the object came
from far away in a hurry.

Feel free to give me a call with any other questions, and have the
Planetarium call me directly if they want to.
