I don't have an answer here but I will comment that visual perspectives can
do crazy things.
For example, my UFO story --
I used to live in New Mexico and was walking home one afternoon when I saw
a spinning, round, UFO hovering over the field next to me. I looked at it
and around in complete amazement and to point it out to anyone nearby - of
course there was no one!
It slowly landed in the field... then I walked over and picked it up ...
it was a large trash can lid that had been swept up in an afternoon dust
devil and was in the process of die-ing out and depositing the lid. ( its
like a tiny tornado if you are unfamiliar. Larger ones will sweep up and
take trampolines and empty kid pools. )
A little trick of wind, hovering, and depth perception made it flying
saucer!
So, no particular answer to the question below other than that a completely
rational, skeptical, intelligent person can see something that can't be
easily explained or best explained as a UFO. Well, maybe the intelligent
part was a stretch in my case.
