Well the weather put a real damper on our Tuesday meeting. We had 8 members show up so I did a recap on the star party. We had two visitors among those who came.
The skies did clear up and were actually quite nice but too little too late.
Our next meeting will be December 11th.
Walter Fowler mentioned in an earlier email that Astronomy Days has been moved back to January. Please put your thinking caps on and come up with some ideas. Not just displays, but some thing that children can do that is interactive. It's nice to look and read, but it fun to sit an play. Think about it.
Some folks are heading up to Staunton River Friday to observe the meteors. We're also taking the park staff out for dinner as a thank you for all that they do. If you would like to come up an observe, we'll be in the field by 9:00 for sure. If you you would like to join us for dinner, let me know so we can reserve you a space.
We also have an observing session coming up at Jordan Lake with the planetarium. The session is Saturday from 6 to 8pm. Come on out and share you joy of the night sky. There are people that come that love to learn.
The dates for the next star party have been set. March 7 to 10. This is a Thursday to Sunday. More details to come very soon.
Clear Skies!
