While you guys are there, keep a lookout for meteors. The Quadrantids peak Friday night with an estimated rate of 120 per hour.

the CSC looks promising....tomorrow night isn't quite visible yet...but the trend is for cloud cover and transparency to be very very good.  Seeing maybe not as good...but who knows...that is the one variable that i have found is sometimes underestimated by the CSC.
 
Either way, i am going...and it sound like we may have a nice group.  I'll be there....although i won't be able to leave work early...and will have to set up in darkness probably.  
 
Jason indicated he will be there around 500pm...i'll still try to call the park to let them know...i always like them to know we are there.  Plus if no one is camping and they don't see us, they will padlock the gate.  
 
Once more i am reminded of how good they have been to us at the park to allow us access to facilities and the sky.  It's great to have a place to go like this ... and our programs for them are no price to pay...heck we would be there anyway!  It's just that sometimes I set up more stuff when its advertised!
 
Anyway, I look forward to seeing you folks out there...there will be a fire....but i don't have to tell you to dress warmly.
 
There is a possibility that i might consider staying most of the night......we;ll see...but i also am mindful that new moon will be next weekend, and I'd like to plan on that.
