I have always observed that is is a few degrees colder at Medoc than the forecast.  and yes, i think it is the "atlitude".

Folks always laugh about the mountain, but from what i have heard, Medoc is the highest point above seal level within 200 miles of the ocean on the east coast up to some point...at least a ranger told me that way back when.


and  a hike up the "mountain" will convince anyone who's a little out of shape that there is at least a pretty good hill there.  Tim and I used to do the summit with fully loaded packs to train for our Grand Canyon jaunts.  up and down, up and down.  allen

I've camped several times -  I have a two hour drive back and whenever I
find myself driving between 2-4 am I always think about what a bad idea it
was the next day.

I find it best to setup your tent and camp first because by 12-2am your
hands are too cold to put a tent together.

re: the cold.. I think it's a few degrees cooler at Medoc than the forecast
suggests since it's slightly higher than the surrounding landscape.
