Tonight is the first meeting of the year. Alan Rich is our speaker and he is one of the JPL Ambassadors. He'll be talking about how you get a 2 ton payload to Mars.
We have a lot going on this month and tomorrow is nothing less. We have an observing session in Burlington with a church youth group. It's a short session and begins at 7pm and end at 8pm. There are only 12 youngsters.
This Saturday, January 12th, we have a Jordan Lake observing session from 6 to 8pm with the Morehead Planetarium. It's going to be warm so there may be a good turn out.
Also in January, Astronomy Days is coming up on the 26th and 27th. We need ideas and activities and people to help out manning the display table. The CHAOS table has grown a lot over the years. Walter Fowler has done an awesome job heading this up. Jump in and give him a hand if you can. The time is well worth it.
We'll see you tonight at 750 Weaver Dairy Rd. in Chapel Hill. This is the address of Carol Woods where we meet. 90 percent of participating is just showing up. The other 10 percent is easy.
