Managed to run to Jordan lake after work and find a western view from a
boat ramp.
There was a surprising amount of random people there who just wandered over
to try and have a look. I was glad I had the sky safari pro on my
ipad-mini which made it a lot easier to look for the comet and we spotted
it fairly soon after the crescent moon. It was surprisingly far to the
left and nearly even w/ the moon, some maps online were a bit off I think,
but sky safari was right on.
I think others pictures have been far more interesting than mine but its
fun to share. Anyway, took these with - auspiciously - the comet hunter!
All these pictures are unguided/no tracking mount, just knocked all this
together at the last minute and used my simple mount.

also grabbed a few pictures of the very thin crescent moon. It was low in
the sky and warped with heat and haze, which is kind of interesting.

My 10x50 binoculars were the nicest view. The scope was nice, but the
binoculars were great for this.
