Thursday, July 20 Evening Eucharist with Prayers for Liberation -- a
hands-on and intergenerational liturgy, the day set aside by the Episcopal
Church for the remembrance of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Amelia Bloomer,
Sojourner Truth, and Harriet Ross Tubman. We will pray for the liberation of
the world and of the oppressed, and that we may ourselves be liberated from
our despair. At Ephesus Place. 7:00 PM.
Gulf Coast Recovery Continues The 13 churches that make up the Durham
Convocation are working together to send a semi-trailer load of supplies to
the Christus Victor Lutheran Distribution Center in Mississippi in July. The
supplies that are needed are listed on the attached document. Volunteers are
needed to load up the trailer at St. Luke¹s on the weekend of July 14-16 and
to help with the distribution in Mississippi in late July. In addition to
supplies, donations of money are also welcome. Checks should be made out to
St. Luke's Episcopal Church with "MS supplies" specified on the memo line.
Sallie Moore is coordinating the response from the Advocate. If you have
questions or would like to help, contact Sallie Moore: sbmoore721 at aol.com.
