Dear People and Friends of the Advocate --

Here¹s what¹s happening at the Advocate (new information is printed in RED)

This Week:

Tuesday, August 29 Report from our Diocesan Bishop and Deputies to the
General Convention. Join with others from this part of the Diocese to hear
from our Bishop and our Diocese's Deputies to General Convention. 7-9 PM.
St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Cary (carpooling encouraged).

Wednesday, August 30 Contemplative Prayer.  Inexperienced and experienced
contemplatives welcome for this time of guided contemplative prayer. Come
and dwell with God. At Ephesus Place. 6:00-6:45 PM (Please note the time
change.)

Friday, September 1 Lesser Feast Friday. We will celebrate the life and
ministry of St. Aidan. Holy Eucharist in the Occasional Chapel at Ephesus
Place. 12 noon. 

Sunday September 3 ‹ XIII Pentecost (Proper 17)

4:15 PM   Set-up of worship space at the Kehillah and Rehearsal of music for
the day. Note: There will be no Christian Education this week.

5:00 PM    Holy Eucharist  The Vicar will celebrate and preach. Child Care
and Education for 1-5 year-olds during the Liturgy of the Word.

6:20 PM    Advocate Table Fellowship ‹ Please plan to stay for supper
(provided by Dinner Group 3), fellowship and conversation.

7:00 PM     Head out into the world in Peace.

 
Looking Ahead (the calendar for Ordinary Time is attached, and also posted
on the Advocate website: www.ouradvocate.org):

   Wednesday, September 6   Evening Eucharist in the Occasional Chapel at
Ephesus Place. 7PM.

    Tuesday, September 12    Community Engagement Meeting. All are welcome
to discuss and plan the Advocate¹s engagement in the community around us ‹
including the Advocate Tithe distributions for 2006 and plans for engaging
with Club Nova this fall.

    Sunday, September 24 ‹ As we celebrate the third anniversary of our
launching, invite a friend or family member (especially those from our
sponsoring parishes) to come and see the Church of the Advocate and
experience our liturgy and fellowship.

    Sunday, October 1 ‹ Blue Grass Mass at the Carrboro Century Center ‹ 5
PM! This is another opportunity to invite folks to the Advocate ‹ this time
for something different from the usual.
