Hello all,
I just recieved the ECOTA news from Lisa. Yes there is a nice group that has been set up to discuss our trials and tribulations dealing with racism in our everyday lives. Now instead of sending me an e-mail for the link and then another to join the group, I'm making it one step easier. (Not to mention that It would double my in-box.)
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ECOTA_antiracism/
The above link will take you to the free yahoo group. It is membership only (so we dont get a bunch of wierdo's) so you'll need to apply for membership. I will get an email every time someone applys and accept them in the group, ususally within the day of application.
In the group you can post a message at any time referring to racism (or any good recipes you may want to pass along (lol)). Other members of the group will get a posting of the message that you left.
Now, how do we all see the messages? When you apply on the 'apply for membership' form, step one you check the box with the e-mail that you want the messages to go to. Step two, check daily digest. By checking this, the group will automatically send out a digest of all messages/postings during that day. (It usually arrives in the evening.)
Step three just leave alone. And step four simply put in the funny looking code letters/numbers that are shown in the box. Then click 'join'. You will be notified via e-mail when your in (again usually within the day of application).
Sending out this e-mail to you all this way simply saves me having to do it many, many times every time someone e-mails me (and slows down the onset of carpaltunnel in my hands(lol)). Look forward to hearing from you all soon!
Yours in Christ,
John Barnhart
