   Dear People and Friends of the Advocate:

Here's what's happening at the Advocate in the days ahead. Please see

information.

Wednesday, April 18            Contemplative Prayer at Ephesus Place.  
Open to all, seasoned and novice alike. Come and dwell with God.  
6:00-6:45 PM.

Saturday, April 21                  The 12th Annual Piedmont Farm  
Tour is happening Earth Day weekend, and a group from the Advocate is  
getting together for the tour.  The National Council of Churches has  
designated food as their theme for Earth Day this year, and this is a  
great way to engage with local farmers.  It’s also a lot of fun!  
Please contact Kerry Bullock-Ozkan (kerdragon at yahoo.com) to sign up,

Sunday, April 22                  The Third Sunday of Easter (also  
Earth Day)

3:30 PM         Set-up of worship space at the Kehillah and Rehearsal  
of music for the day.

4:00 PM    Christian Education for youth and Adults: Adults and older  
youth will gather in the West Wing at the Kehillah to hear Peter  
Morris and Kerry Bullock-Ozkan present a theological and practical  
response to the gift of the planet on which we live, particularly  
with the food we eat.

5:00 PM    Holy Eucharist  The Rev. Liz Dowling-Sendor will preach  
and celebrate.  Child Care and Education for 1-5 year-olds during the  
Liturgy of the Word.

6:20 PM    Advocate Table Fellowship -- Please plan to stay for  
supper (provided by Group 5), fellowship and conversation.

7:00 PM     Head out into the world in Peace.

Other Notes:

Small Groups this Season

Conversations on Race. As the Advocate community continues to explore  
the many dimensions of racism and white privilege in our lives and in  
our world, the People of the Advocate are invited to participate in  
three Conversations on Race this Easter Season. Groups will meet in  
Advocate host homes at a time and day convenient to all to share  
experiences and perspectives. Some may share a potluck supper, or  
will include child care for kids. Please sign up at Church or by  
email to: Tom Fisher <tfisher97 at nc.rr.com>  For further information  
contact: Sissy Holloman, Tom Fisher or Frank Lombard.

	The First Conversation: How we experienced race growing up, will be  
held at the home of Sissy and William Holloman. Monday April 30, 6:30  
- 8:00 PM. Bring a dish to share as you are able. Child care provided.

	The Second Conversation: how we experience race in our workplace,  
school, community or family today. Location(s) and date to be  
determined.

	The Third Conversation: How we might bring justice, compassion and  
transformation to bear as we confront racism in our community and  
world. Location(s) and date to be determined.
