Here's what's happening at the Advocate in the days ahead. New

Monday, May 21		

	The Next Conversation on Race. As we continue to work as a  
congregation to be more aware of white privilege and to oppose racism  
in ourselves and in our world, we will gather at the home of Sissy  
and William Holloman for the second of three expected conversation on  
race. Conversation Two: How we experience race today. 6:30 - 8:00 PM.  
Bring a dish to share as you are able. Child care provided.

Wednesday, May 23	

	Contemplative Prayer. Open to all, seasoned and novice alike. Come  
and dwell with God. At Ephesus Place, 6-6:45 PM.

	Carrboro Greenspace  presents a Farmer Appreciation Table followed  
by an outdoor film viewing: The Future of Food. Bring a dish to share  
for this community potluck. Food, drink and music, starting around  
6:45. Film after sunset (around 8:30) 116 Old Pittsboro Road,  
Carrboro. To arrange to meet up with others from the Advocate,  
contact Brian Sartor <bhsartor at gmail.com> or Terry Milner  
<terrym at mindspring.com>.


Sunday, May 27        The Feast of PENTECOST!

	Wear Red!		Wear Red!		Wear Red!!

4:15 PM    Set-up of worship space at the Kehillah and Rehearsal of  
music for the day.

		Note: There will be no Christian Education this day

5:00 PM    Holy Eucharist. The Vicar will celebrate and Preach. Child  
Care and Education for 1-5 year-olds during the Liturgy of the Word.

6:20 PM    Advocate Table Fellowship --

-- Please bring a dish to share, as you are able, and plan to stay  
for supper, fellowship and conversation.

7:00 PM     Head out into the world in Peace.

Mark your calendars!

Bulls Night -- Friday, June 15! It is time for the annual Durham  
Bulls baseball fellowship night at the DBAP (Durham Bulls Athletic  
Park). We'll reserve some tickets in a block at the will call window.  
Email Chip Matteson at chippen8r at gmail.com and let him know you are  
planning to attend so he knows how many seats to reserve for our  
block of tickets. Game time is 7pm. We'll gather in the reserved  
seating block inside the park around 6:30pm to get some fellowship  
and classic baseball refreshments before the first pitch.

Contemplative Prayer Retreat: Save the dates August 3 to 5 if you are  
interested in attending the Contemplative Prayer Group silent  
retreat.  It will take place at Avila Retreat Center which is in  
Durham, the northwest corner.  In addition to silence and  
contemplative prayer sessions there will be discussion of The Cloud  
of Unknowing for those who are interested in reading and discussing  
that spiritual classic.  Cost is approximately $125 for two nights,  
$65 for one night (financial assitance is available form the Vicar or  
Sub-Vicar this summer).  For further information contact Char
