Dinner Groups Forming! Each week, our dinner after the Liturgy is
facilitated by one of several Dinner Groups, which consist of five or
six people who commit to help provide this important ministry of
hospitality and fellowship. Each Dinner Group is responsible for
bringing dinner and cleaning up once every six weeks or so. In
addition to being an essential ministry, the Dinner Groups also
provide an opportunity to get to know other people of the Advocate in
common work and service. If you're interested in getting a Dinner
Group together, or becoming a part of a Dinner Group that needs new
members, please contact Martha Wheeler (eleanorigby at intrex.net).
Ordinary Time, Part Two This week begins what we have come to call
Ordinary Time, Part II. Not an official season of the church year,
but one which marks the start of the fall calendar and takes us
through the start of Advent in December. A first draft of the
Ordinary Time Part II Descriptive Calendar is attached below. Please
print it out and have a look!
On our hearts and on our houses,
the blessing of God.
In our coming and our going,
the peace of God.
In our life and our believing,
the love of God.
At our end and new beginning,
the arms of God to welcome us and bring us home. (Iona Blessing)
God bless you each and all in your ministry.
